Beacon Fire and Security Shines at SERC Fire and Security Skillbuild Competition

 In Awards and Accreditations

The SERC Intercampus Skillbuild Competition was held at Lisburn Campus on Thursday 30th January. Certificates were awarded by Heather McKee, Deputy Principal, SERC, alongside prizes donated by several trade areas.

The Fire and Security contest was highly competitive, with tasks such as installing fire detection circuits, identifying devices, and developing wiring diagrams. Tutor Robin Hamill praised the apprentices’ high standards, noting that the competition was so close that two apprentices shared second place, with one of those currently working at Beacon Fire and Security.

For those interested in Fire and Security careers, a Careers Day will be held on Thursday, 13 February 2025, from 1:30-4:30pm at SERC’s Lisburn Campus.
